Welcome Back

After a brief hiatus, and the departure of Professor Andrew Kulman to an exciting new post in the School of Art, we're reviving the Visual Communication Research blog. If you've an interest in contributing either as an author or researcher get in touch either through the comments, or at robert.sharl@bcu.ac.uk

School of Visual Communication Research Audit 2009/2010

Over the past number of years, staff in the School of Visual Communication have been involved in a variety of professional and scholarly activities. These activities range from participating as an active researcher for the RA, Faculty or University funded research projects, undertaking Higher Research, at Doctorate or Postgraduate level. Other works include consultancy or design commissions for external organisations.

To this end we are conducting an audit within the School to establish the status of teaching staff in terms of their research and professional work.

Hopefully it will provide information to support staff in their activities outside teaching.

UPDATE: The research audit proforma is now available for download.

ALT-C Learning Technology Deadline

The deadline for proposals for the ALT-C conference for Learning technology is Monday 2nd March 2009. The programme looks pretty interesting for anyone involved in the various aspects of using technology within modern learning, and promises to "provide a broad forum for practitioners, researchers and policy-makers from all sectors to explore, reflect, and learn."

It's quite possible that some colleagues are already submitting for this? If so, please let us know and we'll highlight what you're doing here.
